Albion College

#OneTeam. That's who we are at the Albion College Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center. Our riders come to us from all backgrounds and regions of the country, but at the end of the day, what unites them is their desire to earn their degree at one of The Wall Street Journal's "Top 100 Liberal Arts Colleges" and compete as part of our varsity equestrian team. Hunt seat, western, and dressage riders alike have the opportunity to train on campus at our state-of-the-art facility, which is home to an indoor arena spanning 125’ x 410’ and a herd of 46 school horses, all of whom are professors in their own right.

Whether a student is a future cardiologist who wishes to ride a horse for the first time or a budding CEO who aspires to win national championships, he or she can find a place at Albion.

Alfred University

Alfred University is known for being outside of the ordinary in so many ways. Not only do our academics rate among the highest in the division, but our equestrian program and state of the art facility offer a huge array of experiences and opportunities. With a fully heated barn and indoor arena, two heated wash stalls, and over 5 miles of horseback riding trails winding through beautiful woods and Foster Lake, we take pride in the beauty of our little valley. Our equestrian program offers three intercollegiate riding teams; hunt seat, western, and dressage, as well as two equine minors. Whether you want to continue your education and knowledge in equestrian studies, riding, or just want to expand your experience around horses, Alfred is the place for you. Like we always say, once a Saxon always a Saxon!

Cazenovia College

Cazenovia College is home to one of the premier equine centers in the northeast. Built in 1999, the 240 acre center is home to the College’s nationally ranked Intercollegiate Equestrian Team and also serves as the “laboratory” for our nationally recognized Equine Business Management specialization. The Bachelor of Professional Studies degree in Management with a specialization in Equine Business Management is designed for students interested in the organizational, management, and commercial aspects of the equine industry, as well as students interested in advanced horse care, breeding and stable management. The business and equine courses provide students with the skills necessary to pursue either a hands-on or support position in the equine industry, or to pursue a business career, or graduate school. The program is fully accredited through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.

Delaware Valley University

As a DelVal equine science and management student, you will “learn by doing.” The DelVal mission of hands-on learning prepares you for challenging careers in the equine industry. Delaware Valley University’s Department of Equine Science and Management offers a Bachelor of Science degree in equine science with a specialization in breeding and B.S in equine management, with specializations available in business management, instruction and training, and media and communication. Students have the opportunity to handle, ride, train, manage, and breed horses, as well as assist in foaling management, neonatal care, event management, and young-stock handling and sales, all at our ON CAMPUS facilities. DelVal riders on the IHSA hunt seat and IDA dressage teams are recognized by the university as student athletes. Follow us @delvalequine on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter and @delvalequine1 on Snapchat to see daily examples of hands-on learning at DelVal. Morehead State University

Morehead State University is located in Northeastern Kentucky, and offers a Bachelor of Science in Equine Science degree as an area of concentration in agricultural sciences. The program consists of a core set of agriculture courses, and the student has the option of many different equine-specific courses to fill their elective requirements such as horsemanship, equitation teaching, equine reproduction, equine management, and more. Students have plenty of hands-on opportunities in all areas of agriculture at the university's 325-acre working farm, Derrickson Agriculture Complex, also home to the university's 40 school horses. Students also have the option of a horsemanship minor to pair with any number of other degrees. Morehead also has a nationally acknowledged veterinary technology program and an excellent veterinary sciences program, which in 2018-2019 achieved 100% veterinary school acceptance rate for graduating seniors. The university offers riding opportunities and a competitive team in three seats: western, hunt seat, and saddle seat. Students from any major or program are free to enroll in riding classes or join the equestrian team.

New York Horse Magazine

New York Horse is a nationally honored equestrian magazine.

University of Findlay

The University of Findlay's Hunter/Jumper emphasis is unlike any other program of its kind.  Our specialized Hunter/Jumper track began in 1992 at the start of the English Equestrian Studies program and quickly developed into one of the top programs in the country. The Hunter/Jumper program gives interested riders the opportunity to immerse themselves in every facet of the industry through classes like Fundamentals of Equitation, Advanced Training & Riding, Preventative Medicine, Equine Nutrition, Farm & Stable Management, Equine Judging and more.  Throughout their time in the program, our students are urged to accept internships and working student positions with many industry professionals, including but not limited to University of Findlay alumni.  Our network of Findlay English Equestrian Studies graduates encompasses a large number of industry professionals around the country working in almost every aspect of the equine industry. No matter what the goal, whether it be to become an industry trainer/coach/professional, work in equine sports medicine, pursue equine photography or graphic design, work as barn management, or launch entrepreneurial equine ventures, the University of Findlay Hunter/Jumper emphasis has something to offer everyone.
